Dr. Arielle Leonard Hodges is an Assistant Professor of Communication at George Fox University where she teaches courses on interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, and research methods, among others. Her scholarly expertise is in interpersonal and health communication, and she is especially interested in how various identity issues, such as religion, sociocultural group membership, and chronic, invisible health conditions shape communication in close relationships. In her research, Arielle primarily uses qualitative research methods through an interpretive lens. Through her research and teaching, she desires to help individuals and couples flourish holistically (emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually) in their communication. In her free time, Arielle can be found spending time with her loved ones, bonding with other people’s pets, or rockhounding in the Willamette River.
