The Opportunity
Wake Up Narcolepsy, Inc. (WUN) is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Program Manager. The successful candidate should be highly organized, detail oriented, self-directed, and passionate about serving individuals with a rare and invisible medical disorder and their families. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of daily operations for a mission-driven, nimble entrepreneurial non-profit. Candidates must have three (3) years successful experience in in the nonprofit sector, experience and competence working with MS Office, MailChimp, donor database, QuickBooks, social media platforms; and be a positive, problem-solving self-starter with excellent judgement and comfortable with multi-tasking and a diverse portfolio of responsibilities. This is a part-time, remote position that reports to the Executive Director.
Organization Background
Wake Up Narcolepsy Inc. (WUN) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that aims to accelerate narcolepsy research, increase awareness, and provide educational and supportive services for people with narcolepsy and their caregivers. Based in Massachusetts, WUN was established in 2008 by David and Monica Gow, parents of a child diagnosed with narcolepsy and cataplexy, and Kevin Cosgrove, an adult with narcolepsy. Both parties joined to bring greater awareness to narcolepsy, a rare and misunderstood, often misdiagnosed, serious medical disorder, and ultimately find a cure.
