Program Manager

The Opportunity
Wake Up Narcolepsy, Inc. (WUN) is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Program Manager. The successful candidate should be highly organized, detail oriented, self-directed, and passionate about serving individuals with a rare and invisible medical disorder and their families. The individual will be responsible for all aspects of daily operations for a mission-driven, nimble entrepreneurial non-profit. Candidates must have three (3) years successful experience in in the nonprofit sector, experience and competence working with MS Office, MailChimp, donor database, QuickBooks, social media platforms; and be a positive, problem-solving self-starter with excellent judgement and comfortable with multi-tasking and a diverse portfolio of responsibilities. This is a part-time, remote position that reports to the Executive Director.

Organization Background
Wake Up Narcolepsy Inc. (WUN) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that aims to accelerate narcolepsy research, increase awareness, and provide educational and supportive services for people with narcolepsy and their caregivers. Based in Massachusetts, WUN was established in 2008 by David and Monica Gow, parents of a child diagnosed with narcolepsy and cataplexy, and Kevin Cosgrove, an adult with narcolepsy. Both parties joined to bring greater awareness to narcolepsy, a rare and misunderstood, often misdiagnosed, serious medical disorder, and ultimately find a cure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead coordinator of programs and events including conferences, webinars, education days, fundraisers and campaigns.
  • Devise new programs that support the organization’s objectives.
  • Evaluate and assess programs’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Assist with the marketing of content for posting of events on all social media platforms. Experience with Adobe or Canva products or graphic design a plus.
  • Manage the general WUN email address mailbox. Returns all WUN emails. Capture each person who reaches out to WUN via email or phone call. Assist with donor database management.
  • Manages marketing inventory of all WUN paraphernalia including t-shirts, brochures, educational flyers, wristbands, pens, etc. and mails orders as requested. Manage the online store.
  • Oversees website and other social. Renew and update all website security, URL names, etc.
  • Work with outside vendors for events, marketing, bookkeeping, and other activities. Interact with researchers, corporate donors, accountants and bookkeeper as needed. Work on special projects and support the Executive Director as needed.
