WUN Anti-Racism Statement
h in News
Wake Up Narcolepsy (WUN) has witnessed with alarm the tragic and shocking deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Tony McDade. We mourn for them and their families as we do for all who have lost their lives and/or been affected by racist behavior and brutal acts of violence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WUN is categorically anti-racist and actively seeks to represent ALL people touched by narcolepsy. We understand black people are statistically more likely to experience a delay in narcolepsy diagnosis. This is an unacceptable situation in the medical field which we are trying to address. Wake Up Narcolepsy is working to ensure equality in diagnosis and treatment through research into the prevalence of narcolepsy in the African-American community. We aim to do this by supporting scientific investigations that address discrimination, especially within the narcolepsy community.

As an organization, we wish to add our voice in condemning racism. #BlackLivesMatter
