Showcasing Community Voices at the 2026 SLEEP Meeting
h in News
The 2026 SLEEP Meeting hosted by the Associated Professional Sleep Societies, LLC (APSS) took place last week in Baltimore! Collaborating with, learning from and educating alongside other passionate organizations in the sleep space is always a pleasure.
This year, Wake Up Narcolepsy’s collaborative work was driven by the importance of patient-centered care across different spaces. Our “Narcolepsy Across Pre-Conception, Pregnancy, & Perinatal Experience” presentation session highlighted experiences while addressing critical research gaps and access to care. After the session, community members were invited to continue the conversation and form connections while having lunch at one of our in-person community gatherings.
WUN Executive Director, Tammy Anderson, was a co-author for Efficient CME’s poster, “Waking Up To Modern Decision-Making,” which focused on integrating lived experience into Narcolepsy management.
WUN community input was also utilized in UT Southwestern Medical Center’s research project, “Waking Up to Patient Needs,” centered on support models being restructured.
Thank you to everyone who participated in these efforts and helped ensure the patient voice was amplified. You drive WUN’s mission forward in everything we do.
