Improving Social and Relationship Health for Adolescents with Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia

Does your child have Narcolepsy or Idiopathic Hypersomnia? Does your family want help improving their social relationships? Then you may be eligible to participate in a study at Boston Children’s Hospital.

We have developed an online psychoeducational website designed to help improve social relationships in adolescents with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia. For this study, we would like your feedback on the website’s usability, acceptability, and feasibility.

Who is eligible for this study?

  • Child/Adolescent with narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia between the ages of 10-17 AND one parent/guardian
  • Fluent in English

What does participation in this study require?

The study requires you and your child to review the content of the psychoeducational website. You and your child will be asked to provide feedback on the website’s usability, feasibility, and acceptability as well as your child’s social relationships and social health before and after reviewing the website. The link to these surveys will be emailed to you through a secure online platform called REDCap.

Compensation for Participation

Upon completion, we will send you a $50 gift card in the mail as a token of appreciation for your time.

Please know that if you decide to contact us for more information, it does not mean you have to take part in the study.  No matter what decision you make, your medical care at your health care institution will not be affected in any way.

If you would like to learn more about the study or are interested in participating, please call the Neuro Sleep Research team at 617-919-6212 or email us at NeuroSleepResearch-dl@childrens.harvard.edu.
