2026 Narcolepsy Family Weekend Recap

Wake Up Narcolepsy (WUN)’s 2026 Family Weekend took place March 27th – 29th at the Center for Courageous Kids (CCK) in Scottsville, Kentucky!
This weekend-long camp was open to children with Narcolepsy and their families, as well as parents with Narcolepsy whose child is affected by one of the conditions served by CCK.
Many guests joined us for the event, including Dr. Luis Ortiz, WUN volunteers and representatives from Hypersomnia Foundation. A few volunteers were even able to bring their family along for the fun!
Attendees were able to hear a variety of perspectives from both healthcare professionals and those with lived experience. There were opportunities to connect with both new and returning families, finding mutual understanding and validation in their journey. Children, teens and adults each found activities to enjoy, allowing genuine bonds to form over the weekend.
WUN extends heartfelt appreciation to CCK for hosting us, as well as to the volunteers, guests and attendees who helped make this weekend so wonderful!
