Wake Up Narcolepsy Welcomes Two New Board Members

Join us in welcoming our new board members!

We are delighted to welcome to the board Mary Beth Guckian. She has been involved with WUN for many years and brings to the community her passion for raising narcolepsy awareness and funding for research. With a background as a financial analyst and as a parent to a young adult with Type1 Narcolepsy, Mary Beth is well poised to assist the organization through this new season of growth. She joins Wake Up Narcolepsy as vice-chair.

“Too many people laugh when they hear that my daughter has Narcolepsy. I hope to educate others about this debilitating condition through my role with Wake Up Narcolepsy.” -Mary Beth Guckian

Through her work with Wake Up Narcolepsy, Mary Beth hopes to promote awareness of this deeply misunderstood sleep disorder and to help fund research for a cure.

Please join us in welcoming Gregg Levethan to the Wake Up Narcolepsy Board.

Gregg Levethan holds an MBA from New York University and resides in Pound Ridge, New York, with his wife and twin daughters. He spent his career as CEO of Syd Levethan Shoes, one of the largest companies importing men’s footwear from Italy. In addition, he was the creative director responsible for all design and manufacturing and collaborated with many well-known designers in the 1980’s and 90’s.

“When our daughter received her Narcolepsy diagnosis we immediately went online to learn about this disease.  The first website we came across was Wake Up Narcolepsy.  From attending a WUN sponsored patient support day event to participating in online support chats we knew we were not alone.  We felt part of a supportive and caring community.  Now it is our turn to give back to others and help WUN carry on with their mission of being a welcoming reference point for all families dealing with Narcolepsy.” – Gregg Levethan
