Wake Up Narcolepsy Offers Boston Marathon Bibs in Exchange for Support of Narcolepsy Research

Highly coveted Boston Marathon® bibs are now available through Wake Up for Narcolepsy (WUN), a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing narcolepsy awareness, education, and research towards improved treatments and a cure for the sleep disorder that impacts hundreds of thousands.

The 26.2-mile route extends through Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and Boston

Wake Up Narcolepsy is proud to be an official Partner of John Hancock in the Marathon Non-Profit Program. The Non-Profit Program provides over 1,000 Boston Marathon bibs to select non-profit organizations throughout the community, which provides organizations with a significant fundraising opportunity. Last year, John Hancock Non-Profit Runners raised over $10 million for their causes. For over 30 years John Hancock has been the principal sponsor of the Boston Marathon. The Company’s continued support of the Boston Athletic Association, which has directed the race since 1897, ensures that the race will continue to be a world-class event and an important facet of Boston’s culture and heritage.

“For several years, Wake Up Narcolepsy has partnered with John Hancock to provide opportunities for individuals to compete in the storied Boston Marathon and raise critical financial resources for narcolepsy research,” said Monica Gow, executive director of Wake Up Narcolepsy. “We are grateful for the partnership with, and generosity of, John Hancock, an organization that recognizes the need for narcolepsy research resources. Through generous partners such as John Hancock, we can make measurable progress in the effort to discover a cure for narcolepsy and provide hope for those diagnosed with the sleep disorder.”
