26.2 miles, 500+ hours of training, $50,000 as a fundraising goal for one great cause; narcolepsy research and awareness.
For the tenth consecutive year, Wake Up Narcolepsy (WUN) will have a team running in the Boston Marathon. This team of dedicated runners will run and fundraise for those who also have a huge challenge to overcome, living with narcolepsy. #TeamWUN will race for better treatment and therapies, cutting-edge research, ultimately, they run with the hopes of someday curing narcolepsy and leaving this disease in the dust. Since inception, WUN has donated more than $500,000 to advance narcolepsy research.
Narcolepsy affects 200,000 Americans and many more worldwide and remains a serious, severely misunderstood and misdiagnosed medical disorder in desperate need of funding for research. Supporting the runners will enable Wake Up Narcolepsy to help speed narcolepsy diagnosis through greater awareness and provide research funds for improved treatment, prevention and a cure.
This is the tenth consecutive year the WUN team has raced to the finish line in Boston, with the number of runners and donations growing each year since the team’s inception in 2010.
The 2019 #TeamWUN is currently recruiting runners who will in the prestigious Boston Marathon and fundraise for this very important cause.
