Board of Directors:
Kevin J. Cosgrove, President & Founder is medical sales representative for Aurora Laboratories. With over seven years of pharmaceutical sales experience, he has one multiple President’s Club Awards ranked in the top of his sales force. Mr. Cosgrove founded and incorporated Wake Up Narcolepsy, Inc. along with Co-founders David and Monica Gow in November of 2008. Diagnosed with Narcolepsy in 2006 Mr. Cosgrove felt there was an unmet need to promote and foster further education and awareness about narcolepsy through charitable fundraising events. In 2009, Mr. Cosgrove was honored with the National Public Service Award from the Narcolepsy Network at their 24th Annual Conference for his efforts to spread further education and awareness about narcolepsy.
Tabitha A. Crawford, CEM is president of Balfour Beatty Energy in Nashville, TN. She is a national advisor and speaker on sustainability programs who contributed to the Presidential Climate Action Plan and was most recently president of Rayan Solutions, a multi-service energy consulting company that served both public and private sector clients. Tabitha spent four years as SVP sustainability and innovation for Lend Lease Americas. She is responsible for the creation of “SYNERGY™” an award winning grassroots technology, conservation and employee education program that is included in the Mayoral Climate Protection Manual distributed to 700 cities globally.
Formerly CEO of Military Assistance Company, Tabitha created the first private technology link into Department of Defense payroll systems for the Military Housing Privatization Initiative. Tabitha was a member of the prestigious National Automated Clearing House Association’s Government Advisory Board, the Military Comptrollers Society, the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management Faculty, and a practitioner faculty adviser for the Institute of Sustainable Development at Lipscomb University. She holds a BSBA from the University of Louisville, an MBA from Fairfield University, and a Masters in Bank Management from CBA’s Graduate School of Retail Bank Management held at the University of Virginia.
David Gow, Vice President & Co-Founder is a member of Ernst & Young’s New England Private Capital Group and has more than 20 years of experience working closely with private capital and venture capital firms. Mr. Gow has extensive experience in areas such as investment fund accounting and reporting, asset valuation, partnership accounting and evaluation of internal controls. David, and his wife Monica became motivated to bring further awareness and education to the narcolepsy community when their son was diagnosed in 2008.
Sean R. Higgins, Clerk is an attorney at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts. Sean’s practice focuses on consumer financial services litigation where he financial institutions defending claims of mortgage fraud, predatory lending, loan servicing abuse, and violations of federal and state consumer protection statutes. Sean also represents lenders, servicers and their agents and vendors in all aspects of contested foreclosures and evictions in Massachusetts and Connecticut. In addition, Sean has experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in business and commercial disputes and cases involving real estate, housing, construction, bankruptcy, toxic torts, medical malpractice, and personal injury. Sean assisted WUN’s founder, Kevin Cosgrove, to incorporate the foundation and to obtain its 501(c)(3) non-profit status. In addition to acting as a board member, Sean acts as general counsel for WUN.
Advisory Board:
Gordon Gow has extensive experience in the large corporate environment as well as with smaller and start-up enterprises at both the Board and operational management levels. He has a solid background in raising capital in venture markets and in public markets with a unique understanding of the most senior levels of International, Federal and Provincial governments. With a track record of success in launching companies and building and coaching strong management teams, Gordon has strong administrative and “people management” skills. He is an enthusiastic and aggressive self-starter, highly motivated by challenge and opportunity.
Monica Gow is the full time business manager of Wake Up Narcolepsy, Inc. She has ten years of experience in the insurance field. She is a certified elementary school teacher and the mother of three children. Monica and her husband Dave were motivated to bring awareness and education to the narcolepsy community when their son was diagnosed in 2008. In 2010 and 2011, Monica led the Wake Up Narcolepsy Boston Marathon team- running with speed and raising remarkable awareness and research funds. She is now training for the Boston Marathon 2012.
Jeff Stough has over 30 years of business experience with a wide range of responsibilities from President of a small start up to Vice President with a Fortune 500 company. In these organizations he has focused on project management, revenue cycle, account management, new product development and energy related incentives. This diverse background allows Jeffrey to manage projects that encompass varied disciplines and communication styles. The ability to communicate on all levels, combined with his strong project management skills is a proven combination for his clients.
